This winter landscape brings together the talents of two specialists: Joos de Momper provided the atmospheric landscape, while Adam van Breen animated the scene with lively staffage. The result is a harmonious collaboration, in which the setting and the figures complement one another. It is a significant addition to the group of winter scenes by Joos de Momper. (About 600 paintings by De Momper are extant today and about 10% are depictions of this season.
